Little Traveller
‘Footballers’ are a must-have souvenir because of their authenticity and
symbolism of South Africa.
An
emblem of sportsmanship, hope, and global unity, the ‘Footballers’ are also a
reminder of the country’s struggle against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Little
Traveller pins are handcrafted by South African women affected by HIV and sold
throughout Canada by volunteers. The group then sends 100% of funds raised back
to South Africa to provide an income for the crafters and to fund a local AIDS
hospice. In this way, Little Travellers have raised nearly $300,000 in five
years.
