About a month ago Little Travellers made their way into the United States. There is much enthusiasm and excitement and little by little the Travellers are making their way into hearts and minds of those here in the United States. Our project has begun in Durham, North Carolina, specifically at Duke Divinity School. Currently we are selling them every Tuesday outside of the Refectory. Over the past month the Travellers have made their way into shops such as One World Market and other schools such as East Chapel Hill High School, Chapel Hill High School, University of North Carolina Greensboro, and University of North Carolina’s School of Social Work. We are willing and wanting to sell them anywhere and everywhere in the US and have had some calls from churches in Texas and Florida that are interested in selling the travellers. If you have a venue where you would like to sell them please contact Audrey Warren at Audrey@littletravellers.net.
This past weekend Little Travellers were special guest at One World Market’s 30th Anniversary (One World Market is a store that sells fair trade crafts made all over the world at fair prices in order to help in economic empowerment across the globe.) The Market was the first business to sell Little Travellers in Durham and has been a huge way of connections for us here in the US. Below are pictures from the most fun day!
Currently the most rewarding part about being involved in the Little Travellers initiative is being able to educate people on the serious problem of HIV/AIDS in South Africa and at the same time providing them a very serious and yet joyful way to be involved through the purchase of a Little Traveller! Thanks to all the support from Paula, Ilan, Julie, and the whole team back at the Hillcrest AIDS Centre, most especially all of the beaders, who are my constant inspiration!
